Kuang Fong Restaurant @ Klang

After finished buying some groceries from Jusco, we went to Kuang Fong Restaurant at Klang, Jalan Meru to have our late dinner.

When we reached there, they was not much table already since it was 10pm but if you come during lunch time, it will be fully packed and you need to wait for a long queue.

Once seated, we ordered their famous mee sua with oysters, fried chu hun ken or tapioca noodle(aka hokkien mee) and war tan hor and drinks. My hubby and sons like their mee shua very much as the mee shua texture is different from what we normally buy to cook which is more soft. The friend chu kun ken was full of wok hei but the war tan hor is a bit watery and not much ingredients.

Total damages for the dinner was RM30+.

Spring Golden Restaurant@Shah Alam

Finally, my hubby managed to buy their famous char siew and duck but not the goose cos sold off liow!

The char siew was slightly blackened and crisp skin enwrapping tender belly pork. Drizzled with the sweet char siu sauce, the barbequed pork is simply very tasty and juicy and it was cut thickly. Nothing to shout about the duck, very simple roosted duck but the sauce was very nice to eat with rice!
Latest Update on 20 June 2009!!!

I was not working today and staying at home with my 2 kids while waiting for hubby coming back from home. Realising that char siew at Spring Golden Restaurant will finished by noon because every time I went there either char siew finished already or closed shop, I immediatelly called up my hubby to pack back char siew rice for us.

However, very disappointed again cos all char siew sold out again. So my hubby just pack roasted chicken rice for us which is turned out be louzy lunch for us. The meat was not tender and skin was not crispy, rice are not fragrant and the chili are not wonderful to eat along with the chicken........

Aside from the amazing char siu, Spring Golden also serves excellent Vinegared Pork Trotters (Chee Kiok Chou) - a nice balance of sweet and sour with sinful melt in the mouth pork trotters. They also have roast duck or siew ngor which is pretty decent. Another specialty of this place, is the unusual Sakura Pork. A new way of raising pigs, they are fed lactobacillus feed , with no chemicals or antibiotics. Besides this outlet, they also have one in Glenmarie which is run by a former worker of theirs.

Kim Choo Kueh Chang @ Singapore

My aunty from Singapore bought back some Nyonya chang or Glutinous rice dumplings from Kim Choo for us. It was a very small and mini in size but very nice to eat. The glutinous rice dumplings was wrapped with fragrant pandan leaves with minced pork, wintermelon cubes and Nonya spices. The taste was very unique and is was different from the Chinese dumplings which we usually eat.

Traditionally, Nonya cuisine is a fusion of Chinese and Malay influences and quite often draws inspiration from both its techniques and use of key ingredients and spices. The Kim Choo Nonya Dumpling is no exception to this rule and is one of many unique culinary delights interpreted from a time- honored Chinese cuisine.
Here are a few distinctive ways to tell the two apart. For instance, the Nonya-interpretation uses fragrant pandan leaves to wrap the dumpling instead of bamboo sections.
And while Chinese dumplings are filled with fatty pork fillings, Kim Choo Nonya dumplings usually contain seasoned minced pork and sliced winter melon cubes with five spice powder (cinnamon, star anise, fennel, cumin and coriander seeds) and a secretly-concocted ingredient developed from Straits spiced, the dumplings bring a plethora of flavors to please even the toughest of skeptics.

They also sell other types of chang, such as Salty Chang, Salty Chang with Salted Egg, Cantonese Bean Chang , X.O. Salty Chang, Chili Prawn Chang, Mini Nonya / Salty Chang, Mini X.O. Salty Chang, Mini Chilli Prawn Chang, Kee Chang ,Kee Chang with Red Bean, Kee Chang Vegetarian Dumpling and also noodles, soup, seafoods and others...

Chiem Choo Seafood Restaurant@Klang

After send my son to school, I joined my colleague for lunch at Chiem Choo Seafood Restaurant, at Batu Belah, Klang. Actually my hubby have told me about this restaurant many years back for their famous dishes, we unfortunately we never managed to get here. Finally I realise this is the place that we have looking for many years after I reached this restaurant.

We ordered Steamed fish (Red fish), squid, fried 4 types of beans and vegetables, Salt Fried Chicken and Tapioca Noodle.

The steamed fish in teow chow style was very nice and fresh and squid is yummy, bouncy and cooked to perfection as it was blanched and then drizzled with fried garlic oil and it get well with the grounded hot and sour green chilli paste. The salt chicken's skin was very crispy and fried beans are also goods with alot of sambal paste.

Their signature noodle, Hokkien-style Tapioca Noodle is a to-die-for!! When it was served, I gave a frowning look cos the presentation was not impressive at all. Seriously good! The noodle has a nice chewy and bouncy texture.

Kee Heong Restaurant@Klang

My colleague ask me to join him for lunch with our customer this afternoon at Kee Heong Restaurant which is famous for their bah kut teh.

When we reached the place at about 12.25pm, the place already crowded with people enjoying their lunch but we still managed to find a table.

We ordered 1 claypot bah kut teh and 1 dry version of bah kut teh with yau char kueh and vegetables. The soups is very nice but still not comparable to Teluk Pulai and Fung Keow Bah Kut Teh. As for the dry version, i found it was also good but a bit salty.

Restaurant Famous Seremban Favourites@Sunwaymas

Last Sunday i didnt went back to my mum house. Therefore, we have to find our own breakfast, lunch and dinner. Initially we decided to go to Spring for their char siew but turned out that the shops is closed on weekend.

So, we headed to Sunwaymas to Famous Seremban Favourites Restaurant for their famous Hakka mee and Char Siew.
When we reached there, the place already crowded but luckily we managed to find a small table for 4 of us. It was very hard to get them to write down our order and it takes a while for them to entertain us. Quite bad services...i would said so!

We ordered 2 Hakka mee for me and my hubby, Wantan mee and one char siew rice for my kids with soya bean drinks and the meals come later in about 15 minutes.

The Hakka mee look a bit blunt, plain and served with minced pork only but on first bite, you will feel the springness of the noodles and the taste was so nice.
I am not exaggerating here, the meat really dissolves just by moving it around in your mouth and applying little pressure using the tongue. The Char Siew already tastes great on its own but you can dip them into the Char Siew sauce for a sweeter, enhanced flavor.

Overall it was a very tasty lunch.......and cost RM24 for all!
